"Grim Fandango is a story of crime and corruption set in a surreal world inspired by Mexican folklore and classic film noir. Manny Calavera, a literal working stiff, is a "travel agent" in the Land of the Dead. Stuck in the ultimate dead-end job with the Department of Death, he picks up people from the Land of the Living, brings them to the Land of the Dead, and sees them off on their journey across the underworld. Manny himself cannot move on until he meets his quota, but what he doesn't know is that he's caught in the middle of an embezzlement ring that's preventing him from getting the right clients. Manny soon finds this out and steals a prime prospect--an act that not only threatens his job, but the destiny of his soul. In the demo, Manny must find a woman by the name of Mercedes Colomar--but it won't be easy: the leader of the local underground army claims that she is the latest victim of the corrupt Bureau of Acquisitions in the Department of Death.
